Tankardstown is set in the heart of the Boyne Valley, Co Meath. We are familiar advocates of this old estate as our family home is just a few miles away and it’s a frequent weekend spot for family meals. The 18th Century Manor House boasts elegance and luxury, which is why we find ourselves coming back for more. It is surrounded by a central courtyard of cottage suites and a garden village where you could find yourself having the perfect afternoon tea along with some evening dining at the Brabazon Restaurant.
We had a lovely lunch at the Brabazon Restaurant. We were greeted with a refreshing glass of champagne. Our starter was Citrus Cured Salmon and Confit Duck Croquettes. For mains we had Chicken Supreme and Pan Fried Cod followed by the piece de resistance Mandarin Cheesecake and Warm Chocolate Brownie.
Tankardstown is also famous as a wedding venue. For the bride to be, this is the perfect wedding location. Tankardstown will host our sister’s wedding in Summer 2019. This venue has it all; history, comfort and nature. Their wonderful staff gave us a tour of the house and we were blown away by its interior and ambience. We found ourselves feeling at home and at ease. For those of you who follow us on Instagram we gave you a sneak peek inside the charming Library Suite and it’s bathroom.
If you are looking for great food, a beautiful location and luxury accommodation all coupled with hospitable and efficient service then we would highly recommend taking a trip to Tankardstown.
